Year 2000 PCS events
PCS has a long list of successful events/activities throughout the year
2000
Vaisakhi Cultural celebration Rangla Punjab 2000 A sold-out, full house
at
Gateway Theater, Over 2000 attended, over 200 participants performed. Click

PCS
Scholarship 2000: Ms. Jasjit Kaur Sangha won the PCS Annual
scholarship donated by Dr. Surjit S. Patheja.
Punjabi Sports Festival '2000: was attended by over 1000
partnering with
mainstream American communities. Children weekly practices were held for
Basketball and Soccer teams for four months.
PCS NIGHT ‘2000: featuring Jazzy Bains from England with live
orchestra by
Sukhshinder Shinda over 1200 attended.
Punjabi community delivered games, money to Little City Foundation in
Palatine. This effort was coordinated by PCS Seniors Tea party meeting every
Wednesday, 4-6pm at Palatine Gurdwara Sahib.
SEMINAR: PCS held a seminar on breast cancer awareness.
BOY SCOUTS: PCS held its weekly Boy scout meeting for the Grade
1st through
Grade 8th,
SENIORS TEA PARTY:PCS has taken the initiative to organize Seniors
Tea
Party, every Wednesday, 4-6pm at Palatine Gurdwara Sahib.
World Punjabi Congress Conference: PCS Youth Director Ms. Navraaz
K. Basati
and PCS Associate Dr. Jagindar Singh Ramdev attended World Punjabi Conference
in Chandigarh.
ASIAN American Coalition of Chicago PCS partnered in sponsoring
and
organizing 17th Asian American annual gala event.
Punjabi Americans are proud to be part of organizing these American
mainstream events as follows.
PCS Bhangra performances "Punjabi Boys", "Punjabi
Sher", "Preet Brothers",
"PCS adult Bhangra" teams including Bhangra 101 have performed at the
following American mainstream events throughout year ‘2000.

hosted by Secretary of State.
Ø International Ethnic Festival at
Evanston Beach
Ø Chicago Historical Society (CHS) of

Ø International Day festival at Carol
Stream Post office.
Ø Festival of Lights Christmas around the
world at Museum of Science &
Industry
Ø Intergenerational festival-Palatine
Seniors Center on Sunday, Dec.
